His health quickly deteriorated, and he passed away on January 11, 2025. He was 77 years old. Despite the frailty of Ms. Zhao Wenxiu , of Lu County, Sichuan Province, the Chengdu Women’s Prison still admitted her on May 7, 2019, to serve a 7.5-year term for her faith in Falun Gong, claiming that she was found to “have no illness at all” after a physical exam. She died in the prison around March 2025. She was 83.
